Simeon Perkins diary, starting in 1766 and ending on May 9, 1812 with Simeon’s death, provide a fascinating glimpse into life of a small colonial town.
Selected pages of the original 27 manuscripts are on display at the Museum. The hand-written manuscripts have been transcribed into “typewritten” pages. More recently, the manuscripts have also been digitally scanned making it possible for us to share some of this historic document.
Below, you will find scanned images of the ‘typewritten’ text, and, where available, the original hand-written manuscripts. We continue to scan and add to this collection of diary entries. We hope you enjoy this step back in time!
