A rare photo of Thompson Brothers, Liverpool, eventually became Stenpro.

Main Street, Liverpool, Nova Scotia: 1902
Another picture of looking down Main Street, Liverpool, this time about 1902 and now the new Post Office has been built. (Actually it was built in the around 1890)
Notice the old cannon on the corner. I think most of us still remember those. There is only one cannon left still embedded on a street corner … at the corner of School St. and West St. in Milton. Take notice next time you drive by.
Molega Mines
This is an early picture of Molega Mines, probably about circa 1890.
Main Street, Liverpool, Nova Scotia 1897
Main Street Intersection, Liverpool, about 1897. Did you know the train track went right down Main Street at that time? This was the track for the Liverpool & Milton Tramway. It brought pulp down river from the Pulp Mill in Milton to the wharf. It also picked up passengers, hence the little caboose type car on the end.
You can see the end building behind the train where Fred’s Shoe Store is today. The Town Hall has not yet been built. The tall roof in behind the trees is home of James and Jedidah Gorham, where the present Town Hall sits. This house was moved by horse and oxen team and now sits on Court St. (an apartment building next to Aliant).
Fort Point Lighthouse – Working Lighthouse
I am sure you all recognize this one. An early shot of the Fort Point Lighthouse when it was a working lighthouse run by a Lightkeeper.
