December 31, 2023 will be a milestone date for the Museum. After decades of service, Dec 31st will mark the retirement of Linda Rafuse and Kathleen Stitt. In recognition of their remarkable service to Museum, ’The Board of Trustees’ at the Queens County Museum and the Queens County Historical Society hosted a retirement celebration.

Dozens gathered at the Queens Museum of Justice, on November 30th, to congratulate Linda and Kathy, and see these ladies recognized for their achievements. Over the years, they have worked to preserve and share the history of Queens County through building strong community connections, and welcoming thousands of visitors. They hosted countless groups of local school children at the museum, and made educational presentations to the children in their schools.

Everyone sends best wishes for their retirement. Happily both Linda and Kathy will be involved in the Museum, as volunteers, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm of history, especially Queens County history.
